Onboarding

Welcome to SalonGrid. This guide walks you through your one time setup so your business is ready to take bookings. It has six steps and takes about five to ten minutes to complete.

Here is what you will set up:

  1. Business Type: The services you offer.
  2. Business Details: Your name, contact info, and branding.
  3. Locations: Where clients find you.
  4. Time: Your working hours.
  5. Plan: Your subscription.
  6. Clients: Importing your existing client list (optional).

Step 1: Business Type

Tell SalonGrid what kind of work you do. We use this to populate a starter set of services so you are not building your menu from scratch.

Select all the categories that apply to your business:

  • Hair Salon: Styling, braiding, locs, sew ins, and treatments.
  • Nail Salon: Manicures, pedicures, and nail art.
  • Lashes and Brows: Extensions, lifts, tinting, and microblading.
  • Makeup Salon: Bridal, editorial, evening, and event makeup.
  • Spa and Wellness: Massages, facials, and body treatments.

You must choose at least one category to continue. If you offer a mix, select both, and you will get suggested services for each.

Tip: Do not worry about getting this perfect right now. These are just starting points. You can add, edit, or remove individual services later from your dashboard.

Step 2: Business Details

This is the information your clients see on your public profile. A complete profile with photos and a clear description converts more browsers into booked clients.

Profile Header
Upload a logo (required) and an optional banner image. Each file can be up to 3MB. Your logo appears across your profile and booking pages, so use a clear, square version.

Required Fields

  • Business Name: The exact name clients will see.
  • Business Email: Where booking notifications and messages are sent.
  • Business Phone: Include your country code.
  • Description: A short summary of your business, up to 200 characters.

Optional Fields

  • Website: A link to your existing site.
  • Instagram: Your handle so clients can find your work.
  • Business Photos: Up to 5 photos of your space or work. These appear in your profile gallery.

Step 3: Locations

Tell clients exactly where to find you. This address is used for your profile, maps, and directions.

Required Fields

  • Address: Your street address.
  • Postal Code
  • City
  • Country

Optional Fields

  • Address 2: Apartment, suite, or unit number.
  • State: Region or province, where applicable.

Make sure the address is accurate, since clients will use it to navigate to their appointments.

Step 4: Time

Set the hours you are open for bookings. Clients will only be able to schedule appointments within these windows.

  • Check a day to mark it as a working day, then set the open and close times.
  • Uncheck a day to mark your business closed. Clients will not be able to book then.

By default, Monday through Friday are enabled with standard hours, and the weekend is off. Adjust each day to match your real schedule.

Tip: These are your overall business hours. You will be able to set more detailed availability, like individual staff schedules or lunch breaks, from your dashboard after onboarding.

Step 5: Plan

Choose the subscription that fits your business. Every account starts with a 30 day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then.

Available Plans

  • Independent ($30/month): Best for solo professionals.
  • Professional ($70/month): For growing salons.
  • Executive ($150/month): For larger or multi location businesses.

Promo Code
If you have a promo code, enter it and select Apply before adding your payment details.

Payment
Enter your card information, then select Add Card. Payments are processed securely through Stripe, and SalonGrid never stores your full card number. After your card is added, the Continue button activates.

Note: Adding a card now keeps your account active automatically when the trial ends. You can change plans or update your payment method later from your account settings.

Step 6: Clients

If you are switching from another provider, you can bring your existing client list with you. This step is optional. Skip it if you are starting fresh.

To import your clients:

  1. Download the CSV template. This file has the correct columns already set up.
  2. Fill it in with your client data, including names, contact details, and any notes.
  3. Upload your file using the Upload CSV button.

If anything in the file does not match the expected format, SalonGrid will flag it so you can fix it before the import completes.

When you are done, select Complete Onboarding.

What Happens Next

Once you complete onboarding, you are taken straight to your SalonGrid dashboard. From there you can:

  • Adjust your service menu and pricing.
  • Add staff members and their individual schedules.
  • Share your booking link with clients.
  • Start accepting appointments.

Welcome aboard. Your salon is ready for business.
